Visit Trail Stops at your own pace, track your progress, collect stamps or signatures and keep an eye out for a few surprises along the way. There’s no rush — just a beautiful invitation to read your way across Kitsap County this summer.

A Free Summer Literacy Adventure in Your Backyard

The Kitsap County Reading Trail is a community-centered summer reading adventure created for families across Kitsap County. From July 11 – August 31 2026, families are invited to explore local businesses while discovering thoughtfully selected children’s books placed at each Trail Stop along the way.


At every stop, kids can mark their Reading Trail Map with a stamp or sticker as they go. As they visit more locations and enjoy more stories, their map begins to fill with little moments from around the county.

Families who complete their Trail Map can submit it for fun prizes and a final giveaway, celebrating the adventure they’ve taken together.

The Reading Trail is completely free to participate in and designed to bring together stories, local businesses, and meaningful family time during the summer season.

🖍 Visit local “Destination Point” businesses across Kitsap

📚 Read the featured PaperPie book at each stop, keep your eyes out for scheduled Storytimes throughout the summer

✅ Get your map stamped, stickered

🎁 Complete the trail and turn in your map for a prize!

Kitsap County Reading Trail Family Registration

Families are invited to join the Kitsap County Reading Trail, a free summer literacy adventure happening July 11 – August 31, 2026. This self-paced experience encourages families to explore local businesses, read a featured children’s book at each stop, and collect stamps on their Reading Trail Map along the way. Families who complete the trail will be entered into a grand prize drawing, and every child who finishes will receive a small reward.
